Ten Nurse Instagram Accounts You Must Follow 2021

Whether you are a registered nurse (RN), licensed practical nurse (LPN), or nurse practitioner (NP), there is a nursing Iinstagram account that can benefit your nursing practice or daily life in one way or another. The following are ten nursing Iinstagram accounts that I love following for education, motivation and even just for some humor.

This post is sponsored by my favorite company for board review question banks, BoardVitals. BoardVitals has board review questions for almost every nursing and medicine specialty, as well as, CE questions, pharmacology questions and certification questions. Use the code, “nurseabnormalities” for 20% off your purchase. I have used them too many times to count and most recently purchased their pharmacology CE package. If you aren’t sure you want to commit, you can test their products out by signing up for a free trial. No credit card required!

In no particular order....

@Yournursingeducator

@yournursingeducator is run by Barbara, a registered nurse from Toronto. The account focuses on educating nurses and helping nursing students throughout their education. If you have been a nurse for months or years, Barbara drops nursing education daily and also runs her business @nurseiq where she sells nursing education materials as well.

@TheWoMed

@thewomed is actually a podcast featuring two nurses/cohosts – Danielle Maltby and Jackie Darling. Danielle started her nursing career as a NICU nurse for over a decade and has transitioned into aesthetics, while Jackie is currently working on her DNP and family nurse practitioner certification. Both have years of experience in nursing, share a love of nursing and advocacy, and feature a realm of incredible people in healthcare on their podcast. Jackie also runs Riot Healers, featuring ethical and empowering apparel.

@Nursenacole

Where do I even begin? @Nursenacole is a powerhouse in all areas. She works as a critical care nurse practitioner and is currently becoming certified as a psych nurse practitioner. She recently wrote a book, hosts a podcast, SHIFT Nursing and has a youtube channel. On her Instagram account, she shares her life as a nurse practitioner, student, wife, and mother to three boys. She is incredible in every sense.

@thekatieduke

@thekatieduke essentially started the role of a nursing influencer. She is an acute care nurse practitioner and worked for over ten years as an emergency room nurse in New York City. She hosts the Bad Decisions Podcast (which will be having two live shows in 2022), has also hosted multiple trips abroad for nurses, given countless presentations, written a cookbook, and shares all nursing and lifestyle content on her beautiful instagram account.

@Nurseclara

@nurseclara is a registered nurse in labor and delivery and also a family nurse practitioner student. She shares daily about her life as a nurse, wife, and dog mom. She also is the founder of The Asian Care Unit, working to empower AAPI providers. I have been following Clara since before she graduated from nursing school. Between her transparency regarding mental health and wellness, her knowledge of labor and delivery, and love of nursing overall, she is a must follow.

@Nurse.tori_

@Nurse.tori_ is a registered nurse in the neonatal nursing care unit (NICU) and also a MSN in leadership student. She shares her daily life as a nurse, wife, podcaster, and blogger. In 2018 she started her blog (www.tipsfromtori.com) where she provides nurse insight, NICU resources, and a bit of lifestyle on the side. She is the founder and co-host of “The Cellfie Show,” podcast dedicated to bringing healthcare providers, innovators, brands, people of interest behind the mic.

@nicolekupchik

@Nicolekupchik is a clinical nurse specialist who works in critical care and owns her own consulting business. She has created many review books and courses for nursing certifications including the CCRN, PCCN, CMC certifications. She also has a cardiac bootcamp class, mechanical ventilation class and arterial blood gas interpretation. Her instagram account share critical care pearls and the latest and greatest guidelines. Nicole is a powerhouse in nursing overall and is a must follow.

@Monicathenp

@Monicathenp is an OBGYN nurse practitioner who is passionate about helping nurse practitioners negotiate for their dream job. Although she is a nurse practitioner, her wise advice is certainly beneficial to all nurses in effort to help them know their worth. Her instagram account features mostly catchy video reels, but occasionally you’ll spy a picture of her beautiful triplets.

@Noviceisthenewnurse

Jannel runs the @noviceisthenewnurse account and she is one of my favorite accounts for new nurses. Her passion is to inspire new nurses and teach them how to navigate our crazy world in healthcare. She recently wrote a beautiful book called Lavender and Peppermint Tea and created a new nurse Master Class. Jannel’s passion is palpable through her video reels and posts. She is a great resource for any new nurse or nurse overall.

@Nurselifern

If you have been a nurse for even a minute, you have heard of the humor and musings on the @nurselifern Instagram page. Many know already, but the creator of the page, Ebi, passed away a few months ago. This monumental loss hit the nursing community hard as he was one of the brightest lights in our world. He ran the page @ebi_eats, the Nurse Speak podcast, had a merch store and so much more. His legacy is being continued through his brother and close friend Emily on the Nurse Speak podcast.

Please be sure to give these accounts and @boardvitals a follow and thank you for reading @nurseabnormalities per usual. Leave a comment with your favorite nursing accounts below. There are so many it was hard to only choose ten!
